The pupils within the school enjoy considerable academic success. This can be shown through the GCSE and A Level results, listed below:

Advanced Level Results for 2009

The best results in the history of the School - a cohort of 178 students.

Pass rate A -E - 99.8
Grade A = 56.1%
Grade A/B – 83.2%
Average points per student – 478.5
Average points per subject – 100.9
26 Departments = 100% pass rate
14 Departments = 100% A-C
6 Departments = 100% A/B
11 students gained five straight “A” grades – Caroline Atkins, Hannah Baker, Jack Baskerville, Charlotte Harris, Alumgir Hussain, Henry Marklew, Melissa Sykes, Wei En Tan, Andrew Temperton, Paul Tucker and Daniel Yeomans.
27 Candidates gained straight "A" grades
43% of all candidates gained at least 3 grade "A"
Advanced Extension Awards - The English Department achieved 9 distinctions and 3 merit passes

GCSE Results for 2009

Another outstanding set of GCSE results for King Edward VI Five Ways School. The school retains its place as one of the top co-educational schools in the country.

100% gained 5+ A*-C (157 candidates)
100% gained A*-C in Maths, English and Science
75.2% achieved 5+ A*/A
96% of all subject entries were A*-C
65.4% of all entries were A*/A
88% of all entries were A*/B
Unnat Krishna achieved 16 A* grades!
In addition 19 students gained 10+ A* students, Luke Bentley, Jack Betteridge, Russell Black, Roger Chan,Laura Dobson, Ryan Fox, James Hickman,Stuart Jarvis, Joshua Jones,Richard Lloyd, Kaly Masters, Joe Miall, Bethany Pearce, Nicola Quinnen, Manpreet Rakhra,Michael Strange,Tim Thomas, Robert Ward and Rhian Williams
75 candidates achieved A or A* in 10+ subjects taken
Average points per student = 677 (a new record)
Average points per GCSE entry = 50.6
