Welcome to our (geographical)
BBC School News Report
![]() |
Pupils in forms 9LJ and 9MD at King Edward VI Five Ways School in Birmingham have been working on their school reports for the BBC during Mrs Cooper’s geography lessons.
The pupils have independently chosen and produced their reports.Geography is a powerful and living subject. We noticed that the important geographical issues we investigated in class are often in the news. Sometimes we investigated really important issues that are not much reported in the news even though they affect many people and their environments. Geography helps us to understand many contemporary challenges and newsworthy stories. Many of the stories and issues in the news today can’t really be understood without a geographical perspective. Geography is about the changing world and connections between places and people. In our school reports we have covered geographical news stories that we are curious about and that we believe are important for people to know about.
